Things I read

John Cole is a big enough man to admit when he makes a mistake... though I do not believe it was a mistake.

C&L and Talkleft point out a reasonable request.

In the west "It's the water stupid."

What real people said....

I wonder why some of my conservative friends sit on the sidelines and critique the ACLU, when it has been said many times, that the best catalyst for change is to become the change you want to see. Join them, change my friends come from the inside.

RENew Orleans?

I still think DC ought to be one of Delay's lawyers.

As much as I try not to I still like Jeff Goldstein.

Just read Jude....

I am in the airport with a flight to catch, so I will leave you with these.
My alltime favorite football player.
Way to step up Jake.

Well, the problem I see is that the ACLU has ulterior motives not linked with any sort of Constitutional Rights. Protecting Rights is important, yet, the ACLU typically takes a position against the 2nd Amendment. They also push their view of the Bill of Rights, and attempt to force it down peoples throats, regardless of what the people want.

Every once in a while, I think they do the right thing, though I might not agree with their methods. But, usually, I think they are too influenced by their own political leanings, rather then what is Constitutional.

Really? I don't see any conspiracy at the ACLU. Mostly a willingness to give a voice to people who wouldn't otherwise have one. I sometimes don't agree with what happens. But having lived as someone without a voice, I support them.

I agree with Jess's statement though. Which I would since I'm a member of the ACLU.
